NT ws4 restarts instead of shutdown

I’ve got several NT4 workstations (Compaq with sp6a)that will auto restart after selecting shutdown without any errors.
The latest Novell client 4.71/4.8 for NT installation caused this to happen.
The restart only happens when I select shutdown from the “start” menu, if I select shutdown from the CTRL-ALT-DEL menu, the shutdown works just fine.
It must have something to do with the Novell client, as all this started since the update of this client. This happens on mostly portables.
Anyone?
