NT4.0 System Disk

by bwgerho . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

My NT4.0 system disks have either no sp or sp1. With sp2, the login files changed and when you do an emergency repair on a sp4 (or greater) system with the basic system disk, you now have an unbootable system until you replace the files lsasrv.dll, samlib.dll, samsrv.dll, and winlogon.exe. I did this once; no fun.

Can I burn a new system CD and replace the above files with versions from sp4 and still have a system that will install?

On the broader note, can someone supply a method to burn a new NT4.0 system cd that contains all the updated files from one of the later sp?

Thanks in advance
Bruce
