OE6 mail problem!

HELP! I am firing up outlook express 6 to download all the latest mail and it keeps stopping at 85 of 2000. I have checked the e-mails on the mail server and there is no messages that stand out to be of any problems! I have made room in the inbox, sent box and deleted messages but I still have no joy.

please come to my rescue
