Office Accounting 2008

by waldis . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

It seems that M$ would not like us folks to install Accounting 2008 on Windows Server 2003, all I can find is instructions only for SBS 2003.

I have a dedicated server hosted by my hosting provider along with SQL Server 2005 and my websites. The OS is Windows Standard Server 2003 w/SP2.

Now is there a way of installing Accounting 2008 on that server, keep DB in SQL Sqerver 2005, and be able to access the DB from two workstations over the internet?

All I really need is DB on my SQL server and installations on workstations with provided connection string to log into my SQL server.

Why does M$ is inventing a square wheels? Is it so whoever steals my car couldn’t drive with it? But how about myself, I sure wouldn’t mind driving myself…

I would appreciate if someone would point me the right direction.

Val
