Office XP hangs saving to network drive

I have Office XP installed on Windows 2000 machines. I am running Novell 5.1 as the server OS. When some of my users try to save to a network drive, their PC freezes and they eventually have to shut their PC down. They have all the latest Windowsand Office patches applied. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
