Online network security degree – Is it safe?

Guys I need some advice on this very sensitive issue. I intend taking a MS Network security program online but am not sure if this will help me much as I would like some hands-on kinda lecture room and not doing it over the internet. Don’t think this would help me much. Am not sure though. Would this make any difference?
