Hi,
One of my users went and saved over an existing file but only realized it after a week, so now they want me to recover the file, and since I was busy setting up the new backup solution we do not have a backup for the file that they require.
So what I did is I manage to recover the .TMP file from the server, but now I am having a problem opening the .tmp file using excel.
The file name was ‘fleetcare bank.xls’, and the temp file that I managed to recover has got the following name: ‘fleetcare bank.xls~RF64027a.TMP’.
Please could someone let me know how one would go about opening the file?
What I have already tried:
1. Open the excel file using excel.
2. Open the excel file using excel repair function.
3. Renaming the .TMP to .xls
But every time I open the file the ‘Text Import Wizard’ pops up which does not help as this means that Excel does not recognize the file.
Please if someone knows how to open this file so I can recover it, please let me know?
