Opening Files from Win 2003 Server slow

I have a Dell Switch. 1GB and a Dell 1900 with 4giga memory.. i just install Windows 2003 server with Domains Control, and i can sent file to the server fast… but when i get files from the server to the desktop…. is slow…… Tx… Any solutions on this? Please.
