Opening Pocket Word documents on my PC with Word 2003

I am unable to open a document that I typed on my pocketpc and every time I tried to open the document it never came up. It would just be a gray background in word. It was like no document was open just a blank gray screen. No it was not a new document either. It also kept scanning it for a virus and then nothing. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my problem and help me out. Thank you
