my company uses Oracle Messenger for quick brief internal communication. Obviously the corporate computers are locked down and can not add any other IM programs. I am trying to configure Oracle Messenger on my Home PC so as to enjoy quick brief communication with my wife. We use AOL for email and thought it could be used as the Oracle IM User-Name, but would set up whatever user name that is necessary.
I can not figure out several things:
1-Is there a public or Oracle server that I can set my Home PC to use to send and recieve IM’s ?
2- If an AOL address can not be used how do I obtain a user name that will function correctly>
3-which protocal should I be using , HTTP, HTTPS,XMPP, or should I be using a Proxy server, and where would Obtain one to tap into.
Oracle’s web site is vast and confusing I have not even been able to register successfully. I know there is a way to set this up to work from my corporate network to my home network.
Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated
