Other options besides Exchange server

We are a 30 person site on a NT 4.0 network. e-mail is Outlook 2000 config. with pop accounts and M.S. mail for internal e-mails. We are looking to install a true mail server any other options anyone can recommand besides M.S. Exchange ?
