Hello!
I am scratching my head on this after spending much time trying to figure it out…
I have a client who uses Outlook 2003 and downloads his messages to his inbox via POP3. Under the Account Settings -> More Settings -> Advanced dialog box, he has “leave a copy of messages on server” checked.
Theoretically, this should work, right? I mean, when he logs on to his Squirrelmail (webmail), he should see all his messages.
Problem is, whenever he logs into webmail, his inbox is empty.
Also, he has an AT&T Tilt which is set up to use POP3 to receive mail and leave a copy of the message on the server. It works as it should.
Yesterday, we ran a test–
1. Close Outlook.
2. Open webmail.
3. Send a test message.
4. Check to see if the message shows up on the phone and the webmail.
To this point, the experiment was successful.
5. Open Outlook and hit send/receive on the phone and refresh on the browser.
–Which got an odd result. Not only did the message disappear from webmail, but it also disappeared from the phone–and two copies of the message showed up in Outlook.
I’ve got the same configuration using a test account with the client, but the only difference I have is that I use Outlook 2007. Everything works just as it should.
…Hence why I’m a little confused.
Do you have any ideas what’s going on here or what I need to do to fix it?
Thanks!
