Outlook 2003 switches to Offline Mode

I am experiencing a problem where Outlook 2003 switches to Offline Mode by itself. I am NOT connected to an Exchange Server. Each time I open Outlook it’s in this mode. I’d appreciate it if anyone would provide some insight as to why this is happening and how to fix it. Thank you.
