Outlook 2003 tomes out attaching files

I have Outlook 2003 and when I try detaching or attachinng files to emails the laptop takes forever to find the folders on the c: drive.

The laptop is a brand new 2 week old Dell Latitude D510. The hard drive is near empty and there is no reason I can find for the problem. I have no virus, no trojans, the hard disk is healthy and I diskclean and defrag weekly.

Please help.
