Outlook 2007 can’t connect to Exchange server and shutsdown

by amonsul . Updated 16 years, 9 months ago

I messed up while configuring Outlook 2007 right out of the box. Should have selected Pop during wizard setup instead of Exchange server. When I launch the application, it looks for the Exchange server, can’t find it while configuring accounts, says “outlook.ost is not an offline folder file” and closes down. If I could get the stupid thing to stay running in an offline mode, I could fix the settings manually. Does anyone know how to keep it from shutting down so I can fix it with Pop setting? Thanks!
