Outlook 97

Can Outlook 97 run without Exchange Server in a small (15-20 Win95 workstations) network to exchange internal mail only in a network w/ 2 NT servers (PDC & BDC). I’m doing NT work on the servers but do not know much about Outlook. Need pointed in the right direction for documentation on setting up mailboxes, etc.
