Outlook Express 5 will not remember pass

We have two computers in our office, both running under Windows98 with Outlook 5. One system will not remember any passwords after rebooting, and the other periodically loses them. I have clicked the “Remeber Password” button and have NOT changed any SMTP or POP3 settings (which have “lost” passwords before). I have even tried snooping through the Registry, but it’s mostly just guesswork for me, and I didn’t see any keys that said ” KeepPasswordInOutlookExpress = 0″ or anything useful like that.
