Outlook Express 6.0//proxy server

I cannot get Outlook or Express to work through the proxy server. Have tryed every conceivable combination of connections and server names. Explorer gets through like a charm, no problem there—but having to go onto the internet to check email isfrustrating, and you cannot email from a webpage link either. You have to write it down and open up the mail page!!!! Help!!!
