outlook password security

I was looking through a wireshark capture, and noticed that when my outlook 2007 syncronizes with our email server it sends out my password in plain text.

If I enable Secure Password Authentication (SPA)on the server, and then configure Outlook to use (SPA) this should stop the password from being sent in plain text? let me know if there is anything I am missing.
