Outlook via VPN works on Vista but not on XP

Hi,
I can connect to my company VPN and access Outlook on my desktop pc which has Vista and it connects no problem.
I cannot do the same with my laptop which has XP.
I can ping the exchange server from the Vista desktop, but not the XP laptop.

Is there an addin I need for the laptop?
