Outlook won’t save settings

I have 3 PC’s running XP Pro OS using Office XP.
It’s using Outlook 2002. When I change the settings on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) it works as long as you don’t close Outlook or reboot. Then it’s back to the old settings again.
