At work we have an inconsistent problem with Outlook 2003. Some people get an “Operation failed” message. This happens when they have an email that has been attached to another email. They can open the attached email once, but the Operation Failed message occurs when they attempt to open it a second time. If they move the main email (the one to which the email attachment is attached) to another archive folder, they can open the attached email again. But if they try to open it a second time, they get the error message. This doesn’t happen to Word documents or any other attachment. And it doesn’t happen on everyone’s PC. We have two types of machines (Dell and IBM), and some people have “admin rights” while others don’t. There isn’t a pattern. Some people with admin rights have the problem, while others do not. Has anyone else seen this problem?
