Patch management

I need to be 100% certain that updates are being performed on every PC on our network. Unfortunately I can’t blindly trust that just because these updates are supposed to be installed, that they actually are. Is there some type of functionality that can be added that will provide feedback for each PC on the network as to whether the upgrade was successfully installed or not on each individual PC? And as a somewhat seperate question, is there a way to automatically identify and distribute patches for non-Microsoft products such as Adobe, and provide feedback as to the status of whether those patches were successfully installed or not?
