Path to IS security

Can you direct me to getting into the computer field? (I would eventually like to work in IS security – Network and Internet) My background is an accounting degree with an MIS minor about 6 years ago. I’m finding it pretty expensive to take classes to get certs. My plan is to get the A+ cert than the MCSE. Is this best route? Is there any reccomendations on self studies or less expensive way to accomplish this? Any suggestions what so ever would be very much appreciated.
