PC POWER SAVING QUERY

We have a lot of older Compaq Deskpro machines running Win’95 and when you shut them down you are obviously presented with the standard “It is now safe to turn off your computer” screen before physically switching them off.

Does anyone know if atthis point the PC/Monitor drops into energy saving mode meaning it could be left like that without using a lot of electricity?!
Weird question I know but we have pedantic users!
