I usually leave my pc on continuously. Two nights ago after I had gone to bed, it rained quite heavily and I assumed lightning also occured. I didn’t hear any but I’m just assuming that it did.
When I got up the next morning, the PC was off and when I tried to start it, it was dead. The power had also not gone off but I’m assuming some type of power surge happened. I also had a cd in the cdrom drive that I had forgotten to take out.
At the present time I don’t have a multimeter to check the various voltages of the components.
What is the best way to determine whether the power supply is bad or if this problem is being caused by a short in one of the system’s components without a multimeter.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks
Mark
