PCL, DOS and HP 8150

I have a new HP8150 networked printer. It uses PCL5e commands. I am trying to set it using PCL for a DOS program to use a particular tray but it won’t respond to any PCL commands I send. It prints in DOS when I capture the port to LPT1. I can send it PCL reset andwake it out of sleep mode. I can not send it PCL to use Landscape or Tray 4 and have it work however. Any ideas? Even HP doesn’t know.
