PCMCIA card not recognized

a wireless PC card (USR5410) is not recognized when inseretd in a Toshiba 740CDT (BIOS 6.70). I tried with 2 different ones! Configuration panel pretends “socket empty”. Other PCMCIA cards are recognized without any problem.

Any suggestions are welcome.
