PDC/BDC does not replicate after restoring system state

I have two servers, a PDC(Win2k3) and BDC(Win2k). One day, I restore the BDC’s system state. After doing that, my BDC does not replicate with my PDC. Since my initial plan was to remove the BDC, so what I have to do with the PDC. Can I just run DCPROMO.exe wizard to remove make the PDC(Win2K3) a stand alone DC? or what else I need to do?
