I have a perplexing issue when I click a link on a website to a PDF file in Internet Explorer v6.x and latest version Adobe Reader v8.x. The PDF will download 1/2 to 2/3 of the way and stop without displaying the PDF. The same exact PDF will download is display just fine in other browsers such as Firefox or when I right click the link and save link as and then open it.
I would just love to tell my clients to ditch Internet Explorer and go with Firefox or any other browers of their choice.
I have tried the following:
(1) Opened it and saved it in Adobe Acrobate 6 Standard.
(2) Opened it and saved it in Adobe Acrobate 8 Professional on another machine.
(3) Turn on and off the Fast Web View feature.
(4) Ran the optimizer
(5) Check the rights on the FTP server. Read + Execute. (plus, tried simplly read)
I am not sure if there is a problem with the format of the PDF file or HTML containing the link back to the PDF file.
Have any on your ran accross this issue?
