Peer-to-peer wi-fi network

How can I set up a peer-to-peer wi-fi network to use Microsoft remote desktop (MSRDP)? The host PC runs XP Professional which has MSRDP host program and the client PC is a netbook which runs Win XP home edition.

Step-by-step direction would be very helpful that a non-techie can follow. Thanks.
