Permissions

Ok i have never seen this before, i am using VNC to connect to one of my servers, the manager created an IT folder but never added me to the permissions.

So i logged onto the server using VNC log in using Domain Admin account and go to change the permissions on the folder.

I add my name in which is my non Domain Admin account but i get the warning that all permissions will be overwriten with the new settings meaning everyone but me in the permissions tab will be removed, anyway round this instead of having to log into the server locally or anyone ever seen this before?
