pervasive sql / symantec anti virus

by chad . Updated 19 years, 5 months ago

I am running a windows 2000 server with pervasive sql 9.5, and symantec av corperate edition verion 10.0. When I install the sql on the windows xp client notebook it runs fine when connected to the domain and not connected to anything at all. As soon as it is brought home and connected either wireless, or pluged into the bell high speed modem it’s deadly slow doing anything at all, exspecially opening any program. I also get a message that the av autoprotect has been disabled periodicall but only at my home connection. When I uninstall the sql and av on the client computer it’s still slow untill I reformat it. the client notebook is fine with the av alone. perhaps the sql has changed some windows setting that I am not aware of. the ports look fine. help
