Phaser 860 Ethernet Adapter

I recently purchased a Xerox (Tektronix) Phaser 860 color printer. Not thinking I’d direct connect to a LAN, I now want to. Is anyone aware if the adapter proprietary or can any LAN card be installed? The same question for additional memory.
