Picky CDRom

I was at a friend’s house trying to load some software for them. The CDRom would not “see” any of my disks! It would “see” the disks they had there in the house, but not mine. The operating system is Windows 95 and I have been able to load software from these disks several times to many computers before. Any ideas why this one is so picky?
