July of 07 I bought an old panasonic toughbook cf-27 running Windows 2000. The computer worked fine for months but I encountered A virus that created a seperate administrator profile allowing me limited access to install or remove software and/or hardware. I began deleting files that looked like they were associated to the viral program, just by matching the program name (which I dont remember now) to the abbreviated file names. Durring that process the computer shut down and I just knew I had messed up when I restarted it and for the 3 months since I have encountered error message “NTLDR is missing press ctrl+alt+del to restart.” I don’t have access to the safe mode but if I press f2 right after pressing power I can get to the bios screen. While I know I’m not the first to encounter this problem, when I googled it I read tinyempire’s page on the subject and downloaded their “fixntldr.exe” this got my hopes up till option one gave me an error message “Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt :
