Port Forwarding Wont Work!!!

I’ve watched many many guides on port forwarding and have tried for hours and hours but for some odd reason it just wont work. I’ve allowed it though my windows firewall and set it up in my router settings but still in port checker the port is closed. my router is dlink dsl-224. Please Help!!!!!
