power supply amp rating

by val235 . Updated 18 years, 9 months ago

I have an lcd monitor that is spec’d for a 12V 3.75 A power supply. The 12V is pretty clear, my question is regarding the Amps raiting. From my understanding the 3.75A is the lcd max draw, so I can actually use another 12V supply with an amp raiting of 3.75 or more (4A etc). That is if a power supply that I get is rated at more then the 3.75A like 4A or 5A I can safely use it on the monitor with out any damage right? Amprs are ‘pulled’ by the monitor not ‘pused’ by the supply?
