preasario V2000 LCD

The screen light on my laptop became intermintant. Soon the screen would only light up if it was open about 1/4 of the way. Eventually it would not light up at all.
I can still see images if I look closly at the screen and shine a light on it. I replaced the LCD invertor and it still does not work. I don’t know if it could be the LCD cable or if it is the screen it self or something else. I was wondering what step I should take next. Thanks.
