How can I present information from an Access database in a web page without having to authenticate as an administrator? I have tried everything possible from every TechNet article I could find that relates to this problem. I have an NT 4.0 SP6a server running IIS 4.0 and MS Proxy 2.0 all with the latest sp’s. The server is PKI enabled and we are using SSL. The Access database is loaded on the website in the recommended fpdb directory and I have created the proper ODBC connection info for the database on the server. Using FP2000, I created an active server page using the insert database results option and a search form function. I am the network administrator with full domain access and a webmaster. I have absolutely no problem opening the database and performing searches. When anyone else clicks the link, the following message in the active server page appears: Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ‘(unknown)’. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
One or more form fields were empty. You should provide default values for all form fields that are used in the query. I know this is a security or authentication issue, but cannot for the life of me figure out where the problem lies. Does anyone know what directories in the IIS 4.0 web site may be causing this problem? Obviously, I do not want to give everyone change access to the whole web site.
