Print sending problem from Windows 2003 server to a printer on xp client

we are working in a small LAN with 10 computers on Domain. Printer is installed and shared from clients working on windows xp. Server is installed with Windows server 2003. when I try to send print from this server the job hangs up and takes 2 to 3 minutes to complete this job.
what could be the possible reason for this issue??
