Printer acess problem Win 2003 server

We have a Windows Server 2003 domain with XP Pro workstations. On the domain controller are a number of shared network printers. One of these is a HP 5si. When another admin and I try to open or view the printer properties, the error message is “Printer Properties could not be displayed. Access is Denied.” We have never seen this error before and are having trouble finding info on the web. We would like to resolve this w/o rebooting the server or having to create a new printer and change the login script.
