Printer Device Settings in Terminal Services session

When I connect to a terminal services session, my printers from my local machine map across as normal. However, certain device settings from my local setup (such as available trays), do not show correctly.

I’ve seen this article from MS http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;243942 which seems to highlight the problem.

Unfortunately, thier workaround is not useful, as we have over 100 (non power) users about to use the terminal server, and we don’t want to go to every single machine, log on with elevated permissions and update all printers just to make the settings stick!

Any one seen this before or can offer any help?
