Printer driver

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 and a Canon MultiPass C5500, I have Windows XP and the MultiPass is only two years old. I have downloaded the driver and everything that was needed from Canon to make the Multipass compatible. It will not work and I havetried everything. Is there anything I can do to make it work with Windows XP?
