Printer problem

I installed a HP Psc 1610 printer on a HP computer XP personal and the Wizard keeps popping up with only “finish” being lighted. By clicking this it goes away for about fifteen seconds and pops back up again.
I have uninstalled it and everything else I can think of to rid the computer of it but nothing works.
It doesn’t intefere with the printing or the operation of the printer. It is just irritating.
Does anyone have any idea how I might get rid of this?
