Printer sharing not retained after rebooting in Windows XP

Can anyone tell me what causes a Windows XP (SP3) computer to lose its printer-sharing setup whenever the computer is shut down and restarted? The same computer previously retained this information after rebooting, but suddenly now I have to re-enter the printer sharing information (to print to a printer on a network) every time the computer is restarted.
