printer Spooler Stops after printing from I.E.6

Hello all. I have a customer who has an annoying print problem. Occasionally, but becoming more frequent. he looses all printers as the spooler has stopped. this happens when printing from any web site.
He is using xpsp2 on a 2003sb server. it affects any machine connected to shared printers on the server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
