My Father-In-Law recently gave my Wife and I his old printer (HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-One). He did not have the installation CD for it, so I have downloaded the proper software from the HP Drivers web site. During installation, when it tells me to connect the USB cable, the installation does not automatically recognize the connection. HP has instructed me to continue the installation, and select the option that states “Connect Hardware Later”. I do this, but the printer does not install. So, the installation is finished, and according to HP, the drivers/software required to run the printer are installed. So, I have attempted to go through the control panel and Add a Printer. When I select what port the printer is connected on, it does not even give me the option to select USB. Can someone help me out please? Thank you in advance.
