Printer wont Hold Power

I have a problem with the HP Deskjet 1220c. I have actually encountered the same problem on these printers.The thing is i got a call to repair them and the problem is u switch them on and they only hold power for a few seconds and they switch the green light off.When you try to print when the printer receives the document the green and the orange light both show and nothing will print. i have tried to clean all the inside of these printers since there were some spillages but did not help.what could be the problem?
