Setup a machine for users to work on docs and spreadsheets, but client doesn’t want this machine joined to domain. However, I need to have this outside machine (windows 2000) print on a regular basis to the network printer. If I attempt to access a folder on the server I am (of course) prompted for username and password – but with no option to save password. Thereafter, I can print with no problems, but I cannot have users doing this each time they want to print, furthermore I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT give them the admin username/password required to access the server shares.
tried a NET USE shortcut, but it asking for password (NOT asking for username though) and then does not accept the admin password (wondering if I need to provide a builtin password for the printer – which I do not know BTW).
